Hi. I'm Dave and am an integrative counselling therapist using a combination of modalities such as Person-Centred, Existential, Cognitive and Psychodynamic theories. I'm a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP) *.

My past experiences include working with people who have physical and/or learning disabilities, armed forces personnel, veterans, carers, children and families. All this has helped me appreciate and understand the impact of trauma as well as the many difficulties people are often faced with. I have also taught adults in higher education and primary school children.

Essentially, I focus on the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor, enabling people to feel they are being heard in a safe space where they are not being judged. As an integrative therapist, I aim to tailor my approach in a way that is most suited to unique individuals and then utilise my skills accordingly.

I see therapy as not giving advice or saying what needs to be done to make changes; but more about gaining an understanding of people’s experiences and feelings and helping to explore a way forward which is lasting and beneficial.

* As well as BACP membership I have a DBS Enhanced Certificate (which I'm happy to produce in our 1st session), and all other relevant cover essential for practising Counselling Therapists.
